Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs beef sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 bell peppers (any color), sliced
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Cooked rice or noodles, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Steak:
    • Place the thinly sliced beef steak in the crockpot.
  2. Make the Sauce:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger (if using), and black pepper. Mix well.
  3. Combine Ingredients:
    • Pour the sauce over the beef in the crockpot. Add sliced onion and bell peppers.
  4. Cook:
    • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until the beef is tender and cooked through.
  5. Thicken the Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth to create a slurry.
    • Stir the slurry into the crockpot mixture during the last 30 minutes of cooking to thicken the sauce.
  6. Serve:

    • Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds, if desired.
