No Fuss Pie Crust

This No Fuss Pie Crust is simple, quick, and perfect for any pie. With just a few ingredients and minimal effort, you can create a flaky, buttery crust that will complement any filling, sweet or savory.No

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3-4 tablespoons ice water

Instructions:

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
  2. Cut in the Butter:
    • Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture.
    • Using a pastry cutter or your hands, work the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs with pea-sized pieces of butter.
  3. Add Ice Water:
    • Sprinkle 3 tablespoons of ice water over the mixture.
    • Gently mix with a fork or your hands until the dough begins to come together.
    • If the dough is too dry, add an additional tablespoon of ice water, a little at a time, until the dough holds together when pressed.
  4. Form the Dough:
    • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface.
    • Gather it into a ball, then flatten it into a disk.
    • Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before using.
  5. Roll Out the Dough:
    • On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to fit your pie dish.
    • Carefully transfer the dough to the pie dish, pressing it gently into the bottom and sides.
    • Trim any excess dough and crimp the edges as desired.
  6. Use as Desired:
    • Fill and bake the crust according to your pie recipe instructions.
