Ingredients:

  • Wontons:
    • 1/2 pound ground pork
    • 2 green onions, finely chopped
    • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
    • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 1 package wonton wrappers
  • Broth:
    • 6 cups chicken broth
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1-inch piece of ginger, sliced
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
    • 1 cup baby bok choy, chopped
    • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
    • 2 green onions, chopped
    • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Wontons:
    • In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, and beaten egg. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
    • Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the pork filling onto the center of the wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle, and press the edges to seal. Bring the two opposite corners of the triangle together and press to seal. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  2. Prepare the Broth:
    • In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil. Add the minced garlic, sliced ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Reduce the heat and let the broth simmer for about 10 minutes.
  3. Cook the Wontons:
    • Carefully add the prepared wontons to the simmering broth. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the wontons float to the surface and the filling is cooked through.
  4. Add the Vegetables:
    • Add the chopped baby bok choy and sliced mushrooms to the pot. Simmer for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
